Cycle India

Women for Women is committed to improving the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of a range of serious conditions that can affect women and their babies. Together we can work to improve women’s health and ensure that as many women as possible have healthy pregnancies and thriving babies.

With up to 250 babies dying every week in the UK as a result of complications during pregnancy, our work has never been so essential for women and babies nationwide.

"Funds raised by Women for Women will support that which we all hold most dear – the birth of a healthy baby – investing in our family’s health. This vital medical research will to some extent affect every man, woman and child in this country."

Women for Women is returning for another women-only Cycle India challenge in Rajasthan that starts with a visit to the Taj Mahal before setting off through rural India staying in accommodation that ranges from campsites to an Indian palace.

Support
During the event in India this site provided an area where people could leave support messages for people participating in the run. Why not visit this area to see the messages that were left.

Progress
As a good friend of the administrator of this site was participating in the run a progress report was created where the day to day progress was tracked. This allowed friends and family to follow the trials, tribulations and high points of the run on a regular basis. See how the run panned out from the day of departure to arriving back home and all inbetween.

Blog
Donna Cooper and Delia McEwan, two of the participants, has compiled a blog of the event and provided us with photos of the event. Read this page to find out first hand the true hardships and elations that come as part of being involved in such an event.

The People Who Made It Happen
With over 70 charity fundraisers the India Women for Women charity run was a huge success. This small section is dedicated to all those who took part, helped in organising it and made the event a true success. If you know of some one who took part in the event and would like them to be known or just to let them know of the appreciation you have for them then please let me know here and I will do my best to post your appreciation on the site within 48 hours. Please send a picture, a short message and the name of the person you would like a dedication for.

Donna Cooper
Donna Cooper Donna Cooper, a personal assistant currently based in Kentford. This was her second event for the charity but by no means easier than her previous run.

This dedication is from her friends in Sunny Scotland, well done and we are all so proud of you for all your efforts. Can't wait to see you again next month.
